lyrics

6. Clwyfau
1 Pedr 2:24 Alaw: Yr eneth gadd ei gwrthod
'a thrwy ei glwyfau ef y cawsoch iachâd'

Ar lan hen afon dagrau hallt
Eisteddais yn glwyfedig,
Gan deimlo baich cywilydd trwm
A thristwch calon unig.
'Does neb i leddfu 'mhoenau dwfn,
Na nunlle i ddianc iddo;
Mae drws pob cysur wedi ei gloi:
Rwy'n wrthodedig heno.'

Ond wrth im eistedd yno'n drist
Yn cyfrif fy nghamweddau,
Mi deimlais bresenoldeb cu
Yn nesu ataf finnau.
A chredaf imi glywed llais
Llawn cysur a maddeuant
Yn galw'n dyner arnaf, 'Tyrd,
Yng ngwaed y groes cei welliant.'

Ac at y groes dof innau'n awr
Â'm clwyfau a'm diffygion,
At Un a brofodd boen a gwawd
Dan gondemniad dynion,
A dygodd yn ei gorff ein gwarth,
Yn ufudd i gyfiawnder,
A galw ninnau i fyw, yn rhydd,
Wir fywyd yn ei lawnder.

Drwy waed ei aberth perffaith llawn
Rwy'n iach o'm holl bechodau,
A gwaed ei glwyfau, digon yw
I wella 'mriwiau innau.
O, cannaf f'enaid yn y gwaed
Lle nad oes dim condemnio,
A derbyn Iesu fel yr wyf,
A chael fy nerbyn ganddo.

A hedeg mae fy meddwl fry
At fyd sydd eto'i ddyfod
Heb boen na chur, lle gallaf i
Yn llawen, ei gyfarfod,
A chyffwrdd creithiau'i annwyl gorff
A chael ei gwmni beunydd;
Yn hedd a chariad perffaith Duw
Caf innau fyw'n dragywydd.

Wounds
1 Peter 2:24 Tune: Yr eneth gadd ei gwrthod
'by his wounds you have been healed'

Beside a river of salt tears
There I sat, wounded,
Feeling the heavy weight of shame
And sadness of a lonely heart.
'There is no-one to soothe my deepest pain,
And nowhere to escape;
The door to comfort is locked:
I am rejected tonight.'

But as I sat there sorrowfully
Counting my wrongdoings,
I felt a dear presence
Come close to me.
And I believe that I heard a voice
Full of comfort and forgiveness
Calling tenderly to me, 'Come,
In the blood of the cross you can be healed.'

And now I come to the cross
With my wounds and imperfections,
To one who tasted pain and scorn
Under man's condemnation,
And bore in his body our shame,
Obedient to justice,
And calls us to live, in freedom,
True life in all its fullness.

Through the blood of his perfect sacrifice
I am healed of all my sins,
And the blood of his wounds is sufficient
To heal my own pain.
Oh, I cleanse my soul in the blood
Where there is no condemnation,
And accept Jesus as I am,
And am accepted by him.

And my thoughts fly up ahead
To a world which is yet to come
Without pain or ache, where I may
Joyfully, meet him at last,
And touch the scars on his dear body
And enjoy his company daily;
In the perfect peace and love of God
I will live eternally.
