lyrics

8. Gobaith
Eseia 43:10-13, 44:3-5 Alaw: Aderyn Pur

Rwy'n ymbil ar yr Ysbryd Glân
I wrando 'nghân a'm gweddi,
A brysio i siarad wrth y rhai
Sy'n gaeth i fai a thrueni.
Rhanna'n sicrwydd a'n llawenydd:
Tystion ydym oll i'r Arglwydd.
Ef sy'n maddau ein troseddau
Heb alw i gof ein holl bechodau;
A dyma'n gobaith, drwy ein ffydd,
Y down yn rhydd o'n clwyfau.

O dyma'r hyn a ddywed Duw,
Ein Harglwydd byw a grymus:
'Paid meddwl am y pethau gynt,
Na dilyn hynt hen hanes.
Ond edrychwch! Oni welwch?
Rwyf yn gwneud peth newydd; sylwch!
Tarddu'n ddibaid o flaen eich llygaid
Mae ffrydiau o foliant pur o'r enaid.
Mae clod yn codi o'r cread crwn;
Mae'r tristwch hwn yn afraid.

'Rwy'n agor priffordd lydan glir
Ar draws holl dir yr anialwch.
Afonydd pur sy'n lledu nawr
i ddyfrhau llawr y diffeithwch.
Tywallt law ar dir sychedig,
Ffrydiau glân ar grindir gwledig;
Dŵr i 'mhobl, y rhai dethol
A luniais iddynt oll fy nghanmol.
Fy mendith rhof i chi a'ch had
Sy'n eiddo'r Tad tragwyddol.'

Hope
Isaiah 43:10-13, 44:3-5 Tune: Aderyn Pur

I implore the Holy Spirit
To hear my song and prayer,
And hasten to speak to those
Who are slaves to blame and pity.
Share our certainty and our joy:
We are all God's witnesses.
It is he who forgives our offences
Without calling to mind all our sins;
And this is our hope, through our faith,
That we will become free of our wounds.

For this is what God says,
Our living, mighty Lord:
'Don't think about the former things,
Or dwell upon the past.
Just look! Can't you see?
I am doing a new thing: watch!
Springing forth before your eyes
Are streams of pure heartfelt worship.
Praise is rising from all of creation;
There is no need for this sadness.

'I am opening a wide, clear highway
Across the desert land.
Pure rivers are spreading now
To water the wilderness.
Pouring rain on thirsty land,
Clear streams on parched country;
Water for my people, the chosen ones
Whom I formed to praise me.
My blessing I give to you and yours
Who belong to the eternal Father.'
